Children
learn basic of ballet, jazz and contemporary dance technique and develop their
physical, musical and coordination skills. Creative element of the class
encourages dancers to learn both independently and in groups through a range of
inspired creative tasks and improvisations. This class encourages participants
to discover and explore the relationship between dance and music in order to
develop their creativity and confidence.
Class Structure:
Ballet
basics: Through imaginary children will be introduced to: Positions of arms,
head and feet, Turnout, Plie, Grand-Plie, Releve, Tendu, Battement Glisse,
Ronde de jambe a Terre, Retire, Preparation for Arabesque
Jazz
Basics: Positions of arms and feet, jazz walk, jazz steps and turns
Jumps:
Children will have chance to learn and practice Gallops and Polka, Petit Saute
and Spring Points, Straddle Jump, Leaps
Contemporary
dance: Classes focus on developing technical expertise, strength, coordination,
alignment and flexibility. Students learn movement sequences and dance phrases
with a strong emphasis on rhythmic precision and musicality. Creative tasks are
given to encourage the development of individual expressiveness and
choreographic skills. These classes are levelled by age and experience

Routine: we are also working on a short dance routine to be performed at
Christmas and End of the Year performance/Open Classes for parents, friends and
families
Stretches
and Cool down: our class will finish with safe stretches to cool down
