Work-in-Progress SharingAlways on the last Saturday of the month, NDS opens its doors to a selection of new work still in its creation phase. After the performances, there is an informal feedback session so artists and audience can exchange their points of view. Participants at the WiP Sharing are entitled to one hour of free rehearsal space in the same afternoon of the performance, plus a discounted rate of £6 per hour in the 2 weeks before and after the performance. The event is also a great opportunity for artists to network over drinks and refreshments. 28th April 2012 26th May 2012 30th June 2012 This is a monthly platform for the showing and discussion of new work in an informal and friendly environment. • No selection process - we will accomodate you on a 'first come, first served' basis. • Rehearsal space - one hour of exclusive studio time on the event's date, plus one hour of shared space prior to the evening's performance. Participant artists can also hire the studio at a discounted rate (£6 per hour) in the 2 weeks before and after the event . • Works should be between 5-20 minutes long. • Performance recording - participants can obtain a DVD for a £5 contribution. • Studio's dimensions & facilities - 8x11 meters, music equipment supporting CD and MP3 players. No technical equipment for stage lighting. • Refreshments - tea, snacks, beer and wine priced at a minimun cost. • Audience - bring your own guests to join NDS' regular audience. Artistic ResidenciesNewington Dance Space is launching a new programme of residencies for artists wanting to research and develop their work during school-term breaks and holidays.For more details and guidelines on how to apply please check the pdf document below. Dates for our next residencies: Dec 19th 2011- Jan 3rd 2012 (2 weeks) - Christmas holidays Feb 13th - 19th (1 week) - half-term spring break Apr 2nd - 15th (2 weeks) - Easter holidays Jun 4th - 10th (1 week) - half-term summer break July-August 2012 (2 months) - summer holidays Deadlines for applications: If you would like to be considered for our Christmas residency, please get in touch as soon as possible. Monday 5 December 2011 for the residencies on February and Easter 2012. Friday 30 March 2012 for the residencies on June and Summer 2012.
